Using Input Field

Using Input Field

The Input Field component allows you to create and edit variables. Variables are elements that can assume a certain value. A variable consists of a key and a value. The key is the ‘label’ of the variable, and is used to identify the variable. The value is the merit that is given to a variable. This value (or merit) can consist of a series of letters or numbers. Variables that are acquired through the Input Field component can be deployed for multiple purposes. This component is frequently used for textual personalization. In this case, the viewer will for example be asked to fill in his or her first name. This name will then be displayed (as a variable) on a later moment in the video

Setting up variables

Step 1

Go to Components and choose Input Field. You can add the component by dragging it to the canvas or timeline. You can also click on the three dots and choose the option Place element, or you can double-click an element to add it. Select the element, go to Options and search for the heading Variable Configuration

Step 2

Enter the desired variable name (example: ‘name’). This is the key of the variable, and is used to show the input of the user. This can be achieved by use of a tag in the Text Tool component
